Stitched Together

I could stay in your arms forever

It’s been two months since you came home to me,

and 14 days since we last shared an embrace.

Today, you walked in,

A smile lighting up your face.

And unknowingly we both wore the same shirt.

We laughed, a spark igniting,

and I couldn’t help but think it might be fate.

Despite our push and pull,

we’re drawn together like magnets,

fusing our souls in a way that feels inevitable.

When we surrender, we become one,

like a quilt stitched from shared dreams.

Your pieces fit perfectly with mine.

Through all the moments we ran,

fleeing from our fears,

we got lost,

never truly asking where the other wanted to go.

I had the answers you sought,

and you held the keys to my heart.

In my fear of losing you,

I lost myself along the way,

while you, afraid of your own light,

shut me out, dimming everything we could have been.

But hope flickers now,

and I believe we can heal,

find our way back to that love

that’s always been waiting for us.
